You’ll be hard pressed to find any band more active during the period of no live gigs during the 2020 and 2021 than The Rotanas, ‘Get the Call’ is their third single released this year through Disobedient Records. ‘Spinner one’ of the earlier tracks released this year even climbed up to the top of the Dutch indie chart compiled by IndieXL.
Talking about this latest track. ‘Get the Call’ songwriter Aaron Tormey commented: "Personally, I like to be quite ambiguous when speaking of the inspiration and meaning behind tracks as I like to let the listener interpret it how they see fit, and I think song meanings can be interchangeable from person to person. I will say that loosely, for me anyway, it’s about putting effort into something but questioning if it's what you're meant to be doing in life and whether it’s worth the struggle." So feel free to make your own vision and world around the music and lyrics The Rotanas provide you.
Rich in 90’s indie psychedelic dare we say Brit Pop tones, the heart and soul of this record is the guitar rhyme layer backed up by the catchy well delivered lyrics. You can see why The Rotanas have developed a good reputation, the band have again produced another radio friendly and a record which would be great to hear live when The Rotanas get back on that road again.
