Bristol’s very own The 139’s are back with their second single, Feeling Blue. What is exciting about this release is the fact that it comes as a double whammy; the official track will be accompanied by a live version and video which has been filmed in the Factory Studios in the lads home city of Bristol.
As you can imagine from the title of the track this is a record about a sombre longing of keeping the things we hold dear to ourselves close to our chests and not letting go, The 139’s have used the drumming sections of the layers with the track to make this indie blues song have a real feel of luxury big band rock texture to the way the track flows.
You can tell from the lyrics of the pain the depicted person is feeling from the very start, the overthinking, overlapping questioning of the words pull you to a reminiscing of a break up that should just be left to fade away so the person can meet a new place of acceptance.
The 139’s have created a real radio friendly, afternoon indie swing record here which you will definitely enjoy, so check it out, and look out for the extra Factory session aswell.
