London's Probably Oslo return with ‘Little by Little’, This new track is all about a break-up, much like the Fleetwood Mac album ‘Rumours’ which was a big influence for the band. Here they treat it with a good level of acceptance, as they testify the single was written in both "commiseration and celebration" of the separation.
The heavy emotional subject matter is also lightened by the music, which offer some summer vibes. Producer Brett Shaw has worked with such indie royalty such as Foals and Florence and the Machine. Having said all that, the closing descriptions of childhood houses falling down is perhaps more telling of the subject's emotional state.
The warmth of the music however is ideal for the arrival of Spring. And though you may be enjoying this in the location of your garden rather than your favourite festival this year, it is a sound full of promise!
