PORTS Single Review

Normally we introduce the band and their song as a run up of what to expect and compare them to a chart topping reference, but we’re not going to do that this time because this song from PORTS has its own identity and absorbing quality that we’re going to remove the introduction and just get right into the track. On the horizon, the calm wandering wind strings around the rocks and the beats of the steady drums is like a wave running in and retreating back to where it has come. PORTS have created a feel good refreshing soundscape which tells its own interesting story through smooth changing textures that marry so well. Then the cherry on top of this well baked cake is the vocals, they mould the lyrics around your senses and have an impact on your emotions in a positive way. 

Simply put PORTS, from Northern Ireland, have created a beautiful song which will always have a place on the Off the Hook Music playlist, we encourage you all to check it out because no one will let this record pass without adding it to your own playlists. In the three years Off the Hook Music has been around we have only ever given one track a 5 Hook rating, and today we have just made it two by giving ‘Swimming Pool’ the highest praise we can!
