Pave The Jungle EP Review

EP Title: ‘Waiting For Nothing’

Boom! Like setting off a boat flair, the opening track of Pave The Jungle’s EP ‘Waiting For Nothing’ is bright, loud, and forceful! You can’t help allowing “Moirai” to grab your attention and bring you to shore. There’s so many layers that make this song a hive of activity, the lyrics provide you with the feel of someone in a moment of needing direction to find a happier place.

‘Oddball’ is not what it may seem, full of futuristic beats and tempo changes this is an electronic rock track which has a nice guitar section that adds to the feel of the track. For us here at Off the Hook Music this is THE track of the EP. Full of adrenaline; a fist pumping opportunity, you can’t help but enjoy this track!

Full of rock carnage but tempered down from the opening tracks ‘Lucky Ones’ has a radio playlist appeal to it, there is a feel of modern Radiohead about the song with playful mixing of heavy dream rhythm and spiky guitar notes, it’s like a rogue of a child on a swing at the park and your unsettled by the smile on his face.

‘Picture of Health’ brings an end to the EP, like ‘Lucky Ones’ this record has a radio friendly modern music consumer appeal to it, but unlike ‘Lucky Ones’, ‘Picture of Health’ has the earlier energy and rawness of the band’s sound. One could say there is an evolution within the EP record as ‘Picture of Health’ takes everything that's good about the collection of songs and then combines them together!

3.5 Hooks out of 5
