Toronto based producer and multi-instrumentalist, Les Cooper, has a new release to lead up to their upcoming album in late May. The newest track features Caroline Marie Brooks from Good Lovelies providing the vocals for this song.
When asked about ‘Noise’ Les Cooper explained “This song came out of a feeling of helplessness as I recognized my instinct to shield and protect them but struggled with the reality that that wasn't my role,”.
For us here at Off the Hook Music, our faces floated into a dream-like state the instant the track began. The blend of string instruments and the clapping beat setter provides multiple layers within this record. It’s like a wedding cake with delicious sections that draw you in for more, you then realise you're unable to put down your fork as you need to continue to have the next mouthful.
The way Les and Caroline mould their vocals around each other is a smooth operation, the female and male textures within the voices allows the lyrics to be told in a highlighting manner of the insecurity of the words. This is one of the best tracks we’ve heard so far this year, it will only get better with the album in May which here at Off the Hook Music we can’t wait to hear.
