Many people have spoken about the challenges and fears of what Brexit could present to the music industry, but instead of getting down and giving up, to mark a year of political separation we have the bright spark of À TOI À MOI a collection of 4 songs.
The best way to fight against separation is collaboration, this is exactly what The Eurosuite, Naguals and Shoefiti musical mixology project has done, but having the combination of so many diverse and different musicians coming together has created a sound so unique, it’s a big middle finger to everyone who doesn’t progress like this EP being sold on each sides of the Brexit shores.
The first two tracks on the record have a raw and power message, with rough and strong musical textures of a new-wave rock which is so confronting. The soundscape is so powerful, it’s like watching a marching parade of citizens walking for hope up a rocky hill with a dark cloud vibrating over top which has no hope of stopping the rhythm below.
The last two tracks have a much more reduced sound but so different at the same time, one has a harsh eye opening lyric that provoked interest in the current state of affairs, but the curtain closing song has a more tongue in cheek feel, filled synth-pop noise, which shows how all the bands have managed to mould together and give all of their touches to a collaborative collection of song.
All in all this is a EP with an aggressive nature and pulls on the protagonists side of life, if you're fed up with the status quo and want to rebel to an appropriate message and a rock soundscape this is the EP for you in 2022.
